MARIAN WYNN remembers her mother December 22, 2015 19:10 2 Comments
"What a life ,without Dad , for 3 years . I was talking to a man last week , after I told my story , and he said , " I don't think I could have left my wife and kids for 3 years " . and I said ," You don't know what it was like to live through a depression ". I had been in the depression all my life . People don't understand how bad it really was ."
"...when I came to work in the shipyards . She stayed home and raised 9 children between the ages of 1 and 16 by herself; so Dad could come to Richmond to work in the shipyard in 1942 . I think that was quite heroic."
